Bug-out guns, gear abounds at SHOT 2017 (14 PICS)

Actually having to “bug out” may not be pleasant, but shopping for it can be fun. Companies showing their wares at SHOT Show 2017 had everything prep-minded folks could possibly need, and then some. Here’s a sampling:

Carry that water

HydraPak has new and updated ways to pack this most essential of supplies. The company specializes in squishy but durable water containers. The Seeker is a new collapsible, flask-shaped pouch that comes with a carry case. The 2-liter size is $18 and the 3L is $20. It comes with a tiny drawstring pouch. Optional is the “trek kit,” that adds a pressurized tube and squeeze valve to give your gear or dog a rinse. Seeker kits will be in stores later this month.

Be ready to obtain food and maintain security

A firearm doesn’t have to be heavy. Chiappa’s Little Badger is on shelves in .22LR, .22WMR, and .17HMR. It sports a threaded barrel for those who want to be extra stealthy, and Picatinny rail is an option for adding optical accessories. The folding stock and 2.9 pounds of weight makes it very portable. MSRP is $217.

Pack it all up

VooDoo Tactical has a vast selection of packs. New for 2017 is their HydroRunner/Recon Pak, with an MSRP of $105. The company is going for a less overtly tactical look in this year’s products. Pursuant to that, laser-cut MOLLE attachments lend an urban, low-profile flavor to a pack that’s ready for serious work.
