Winchester is gearing up for hunting season by introducing a new series of ammunition designed for deer hunters — the Deer Season XP Copper Impact.

Similar to its predecessor, the original Deer Season XP, the Copper Impact series offers a large-diameter polymer tip paired with a hollow-point bullet created to rapidly expand upon impact. What sets the Copper Impact apart from the original series, however, is its solid copper bullet design. This copper construction delivers improved weight retention over lead core bullets, says Winchester. Additionally, the Copper Impact features a different colored polymer tip for easy recognition.

“With Deer Season XP Copper Impact, Winchester continues its longstanding tradition of creating innovative ammunition that meets the needs of hunters and shooters,” Matt Campbell, vice president of marketing and sales for Winchester Ammunition, said in a press release.

Initial caliber offerings for the Deer Season XP Copper Impact lineup will include: 85-grain .243 Win., 130-grain .270 Win, 150-grain .308 Win, 150-grain, .30-06 Springfield, 150-grain .300 Win Mag. The new ammo will ship 20-rounds to a box and is approved for use in states that require lead-free ammunition.
