Beretta USA collaborates with McRee Precision for TSR-1 rifle

Chambered in either .260 Remington or .308 Winchester, the long arm pairs the Tikka T3 action with a custom-built aluminum chassis from McRee Precision. The Tikka barrel, the same one consumers will find on the Compact Tactical Rifle, features a 5/8-24 thread to accept direct thread suppressors.

Some of the highlights from that McRee chassis are the G10 folding rifle stock with a M-LOK compatible front-end, adjustable LOP and cheek riser and a M-LEV integrated cant indicator. The rifle also comes with upper and lower Picatinny rails and quick disconnect sling swivel sockets.

In addition to the frame, McRee plans to throw in a Rear Stock Pack to add a little comfort to long range shooting.

Phillip Jones, product manager for rifles at Beretta U.S.A. said in a statement that working with McRee Precision was a great opportunity for the two companies to offer long range shooters something new.

“Combining the best in class performance of the Tikka T3 Compact Tactical Rifle with McRee’s combat-tested chassis offers the long distance and precision shooting enthusiast an accurate and reliable rifle that is priced aggressively to be eligible for the production division of the Precision Rifle Series,” Jones said.

The rifle will see a limited run, with only 400 pieces in the works.

Scott McRee, owner of McRee Precision, said though this is a limited edition rifle he thinks consumers will love what the TSR-1 brings to the table.

“I am confident that the sport shooting, tactical run and gun competitor, as well as the law enforcement community will enjoy this offering,” McRee said in a statement. “It’s an honor to be working with Beretta U.S.A. and to be helping them provide another superb product to the American market.”

The TSR-1 retails for $1,995 without the optic.
